- Chapter 2 Page 51
Figure 2-15 shows the three different mesh sizes, but they incorrectly show curvature-based mesh parameters when they should be set to standard mesh parameters. Please use the corrected image below.
- Chapter 7 Page 161
The first line should say: Use a Blended curvature-based mesh.
- Chapter 8 Page 171
The first paragraph contains the sentence:
"Do not select any face of the MICROCHIP."It should say:
"Select all faces of the MICROCHIP except the one touching the RADIATOR."- Chapter 9 Page 1
Simulation 2021 and Simulation 2022 incorrectly interpret Local Interaction when faces of different components are placed at acute angle to each other as in HANGER.SLDASM and these faces are touching along an edge. Despite Local Interaction defined as Contact, the common edge remains fixed. We have updated the downloads for this book to include a new file named HANGER FIX.SLDASM, that should be used in place of the original HANGER.SLDASM file in this chapter. HANGER FIX.SLDASM does not have faces placed at acute angles and, therefore, avoids the erroneous behavior.
An alternative approach is to use the originally provided HANGER.SLDASM file, but modify Global Interaction by setting the Gap range for bonding to zero. We've kept the original HANGER.SLDASM file in the downloads under a folder named HANGER ORIGINAL for this purpose.

Figure 22-38 in the book shows the results of the simulation. The result presented in the book was obtained without symmetry boundary conditions that should have been there. Please see the updated figure below for the correct result.
